U.S. on High Alert as Security Is Stepped UpWASHINGTON, Oct. 7 — Federal, state and local law enforcement officials, fearing reprisals for the air strikes in Afghanistan, immediately tightened security and increased patrols today at airports, train stations, sports stadiums and public buildings across the country. - N.Y. Times Didn't anyone sitting around the war table in Washington say "We can't do that - it would lead to terrorist reprisals" ? There is no way America can totally prevent any kind of terrorist action. It's just too easy to slip someone a mickey. Sure you might get caught, you might get killed doing it - but a person who is willing to die in the process can manage . Leadership does not consist of staying the course on the old WWII or even Vietnam methods. This is a new war, and bombs are not an answer. We need someone in Washington with brains and someone with the best interests of the country at heart. We have neither right now. Palema
