U.S. and Britain Clearing Way for 'Relentless' Campaign, Bush Says T H E UN I T E D S T A T E S , supported by Britain, today launched a long-anticipated attack on Afghanistan, firing devastating volleys of cruise missiles against military and communications facilities and suspected terrorist training bases.N.Y.
