Read about possible violations of the Smith-Mundt Act by the Bush administration. This is the law that brs use of public money to sway public opinion in the U.S. It was written in response to the Hitler propaganda machine. It was a good law. See article in the Detroit Free Press bemoaning the effect of the law on a well-meaing movie. 'Kainah' writes Given some thought, and some good lawyers, might it be possible to sue under the 1948 Smith-Mundt Act to end some of this propaganda to which we are being subjected? Is it legal for the Pentagon, State Department, etc. to make all this film footage available, presumably for free, to the networks to 'influence public opinion.'? Palema
