'Blogosphere' ... a symbiotic community of blogs and journalists

Phil Wainwright, over at looselycoupled.com has a link to an article by John Hiler analyzing the blog-journalism relationship. Searching for a metaphor that makes more of bloggers than fleas and dung beetles (parasites), Hiler adopts the term "blogosphere" coined by William Quirk at the Daily Pundit, where are provided 'Rationales for an Irrational World.' Just what we need -- far more than religion, psychics or E-Bay.
By the way, I cite Phil Wainwright in this chain because I am familiar with him in connection with the bloggerPro help list, and he's good.
Says Phil, "The Blogosphere is just the beginning. Look at it another way, and you can see that what we're building is a Globosphere that pools the resources of the entire world — a Demosphere, perhaps."
The interconnectedness of the world is what I love about the internet. Being able to connect verbally with relatives and strangers far more easily than by letter of telephone is wonderful. I also love the ease of publishing one's thoughts on various topics.
