god needs your help

 

Whoop-di-doo! after 30-odd years of having to recite a pledge not only to the country I love, but also to a god I didnt believe in, I am released from the burden. OK, I admit I haven't said the Pledge of Allegiance recently, but having to do it still rankles.

Our one-minded senators and representatives rushed to the defense of this theoretical being, following a Ninth Circuit (San Francisco) Court of Appeals decision, reported today, that reciting the Pledge in public schools is an unconstitutional breach of the Separation clause. It looks like it will be a while before we see any new thoughts ever coming from the so-called hallowed halls. Dem. Sen. Daschle, for whom I had high hopes, jumped right in line behind the apalled.
