Bushlexia anecdote passed around among the Brits

"My good friend Tony Blair" told Liberal politician Shirley Williams (aka the Baroness Williams of Crosby), who told an audience in Brighton, a report of which was told by Jack Malverny of the London Times, which was quoted in BushWatch recently:

Blair, Bush and [French President] Jacques Chirac were discussing economics and, in particular, the decline of the French economy. 'The problem with the French,' Bush confided to Blair, 'is that they don't have a word for entrepreneur'. --WP, July 10, 2002

When Abby Hoffmann spoke at the state college here in the 80s, he remarked that the (French) word "entrepreneur" literally tranlates as "enter and take." That was funny, but actually the word is derived from 'entreprendre' and means to undertake or embark upon (an enterprise), aka a start-up
