When I began this blog in 2001, I was appalled by President Bush's headlong rush to an illegal war (we were not in fact under attack). As time wore on and Bush began his assault on the Constitution and any people bold enough to criticize, I believed that "the republic is endangered more by actions of our own government than by those of any terrorist." With the election of a high-minded, compassionate, intelligent man like Barack Obama, my fears have ceased.

Pressure is on Bush to hold off. And maybe he will, but the war has to look real in order for him to achieve the results he wants in the Middle East.
He's been threatening an invasion against Saddam Hussein for nearly a year. Whatever result BushCo was seeking hasn't come about. When he finally gets his way (in whatever secret undertaking he is really involved in) he will bring the boys home and crown himself the Peace President. Remember where you read it first.

War imminent?
The Bush administration has ordered another 27,000 troops to the Persian Gulf as part of a rapidly growing buildup for possible war with Iraq, defense officials said Saturday. It was the second big deployment order in 24 hours, coming on the heels of Friday’s orders for 35,000 new troops. --MSNBC news 1-11-03The UN inspecton team is not done yet, so obviously the threat against Iraq is not fo the reasons Bush states.
