A little storyYou may recall that Hitler used to do watercolors. He wan't very good. One day St. Peter was doing the annual inspection of the special purgatory reserved for artists who are not very good, and the two walked outside together briefly. "Oh! it's starting to rain! "says Hitler. "Yes, I agree with you," says St. Peter. "Hm, so you think it's ok, what we did in Auschwitz?" "No, " says St. Peter. "I just agree about the rain." Let that stand as a preface to my statement that I agree with Saddam Hussein that Bush lies. The Iraqi demands to the United Nations included a call to strip Israel of its weapons of mass destruction and force it to abide by Security Council resolutions requiring its withdrawal from occupied Palestinian territory. The government statement also said the United States and Britain should officially be branded "liars." --NY Times, 3-9-03, Just don't tell me this means I therefore approve of Saddam Hussein. I don't. My point is simply that this is not black and white; my belief that Hussein is correct about one thing does not mean I like or approve of him. Nor does it mean I think Bush kicks his dog. Life is filled with little and large inconsistencies. Palema
