Acceptance

I turned 60 earlier this month. My kids asked me how I felt about that, and the answer is: I feel good about it! I'm happy to be alive and working, and have as a goal making the final third of my live as productive and able as possible. I started an exercise program that works well for me - it's not a scheduled class, so I just show up three times a week as I can. I want to build strength, expecially in my shoulders and upper body generally, and stamina. Both have fallen off the last couple of years. Age is not something to fight- it's something to accept and work with.
In fact, many things in one's life are to be accepted. One thing NOT to accept is injustice. That should never be accepted with a shrug, expecially injustice against others, since we observers may have a better opportunity to oppose it than the victim of it.
