Tim Robbins Hits Home

This week on tv I saw a brief speech by actor TIm Robbins just before the President gave a speech resmbling the state of the union address. (taxes, spending, jobs, family values, and other such ambiguous hot buttons). Tim Robbins reminded us, and during the last presedential elections I found myself thinking the very same thing, that presidential candidates need to go out on a limb and say what they will fight for. They need not in such crucial times make speeches to get them elected. Please future candidates, tell us who you are. At least that way, when our favorites lose we will know that more of the voting population disagreed with you, and won't constantly assume someone was duped!

Likewise, Mr. Bush, in your next address would you do us the favor of being more specific about what you are suggesting? I find your promises ambiguous. I hear words that could sound good to an entire dichotomous population and it makes me wonder. Is it popularity you need? We need you to serve us, so please tell us what you really mean so we can validate that you are serving our needs!

Also, Mr. President, a quick question - how was it you could state that you thought Washington should stop spending so much when you just spent astronomical amounts on this war? (I am greatful that so far there has been no mass retaliation. ) My point is that since I know you ar willing to spend millions on waging war, I would like to know exactly what it is that you are telling washington to STOP spending on? Please do not cut education! In this huge corporate world I have seen (I live 15 miles from the insurance capital of the world) there are MANY who need more education! How soon can you provide free education to the state of CT? Let us pay for private college, but make university free! (Or send me varying sources on why California's system might have failed.)

Thank you for listening,
now back to your regular program on Alternate Patriot.
