Oh, those tax-and-spend....

 

.... Republicans? HUH?

For 40 years, I've heard Republicans complain about the "tax-and-spend Democrats." They've griped about unbalanced budgets and deficit spending. Bad fiscal policy, no matter how worthy the expenditures, they said.

But now we see, when push comes to shove, who are really the big spenders: Republicans! Especially CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS.

Reagan ran up the biggest deficit in our history -- and then was surpassed by George HW Bush. Bush I was then suprassed in turn by Bush II.

You know what? They are out to destroy government. If the government is weak or non-existent, the rich and powerful can do as they please. They do not want a democracy, nor a republic.
