'Get involved now'The Democratic National Committee sent me a link to their latest effort, a Flash movie called "Bushenstein" showing how dangerous a Bush-stacked Supreme Court is to American values. I think their money and time would be better spent on TV ads rather than preaching to the faithful via opt-in email lists. I keep waiting to hear strong leadership from Washington, from those Democratic officials who hold office, and there seems to be darn little going on. Democratic office holders are willing to criticize Bush on the economy and jobs, but are unwilling to even hint that his war was a mistake (of course they helped it happen, so what can they say?). The few who have spoken out will come to a bad end-- attacked and undermined by GOP dollars and abandoned by their friends in the Democratic party. Who wants such a fate? Not our elected Democratic leaders. So they are being very very careful. They act as if it were politics as usual, yet they want us to respond as if there were a world-shaking threat from Bush's people. I've been writing this blog for two years, and have been out there at peace vigils. I talk to my acquaintances about this administration (and the one in Connecticut) whenever the opportunity arises. (I don't harangue people at all, but let them know I am very very worried by these people.) What I haven't done is send money to the DNCC because I don't trust them not to waste it. So DNCC: Tell us what you've been doing to stop Bush. Palema
