MoveOn results!

The MoveOn.org online primary votes are in and none of the candidates gained a clear majority, so MoveOn is not endorsing anyone at this point. To me this is good news; for many of us, it's still too early to decide where to put our resources, time and talent.

I like nearly all the Democratic candidates that I know anything about, with one exception, Joseph Lieberman. I was gratified to see that among MoveOn members, he finished behind Carole Mosely Braun, "other" and "undecided," coming in ahead of only Al Sharpton, a man who for years we thought of as a clown (my boss heard him speak not long ago, and told me he was exellent).

Howard Dean, Governor of Vermont, led the pack with43.87 percent of the tally -- well ahead of my first choice, Dennis Kucinich and my third choice, Sen. Kerry of Massachusetts.

I suspect Howard Dean profits from the West Wing vote, being from northern New England, land of maple sugar and purity of heart, similarly to the character Pres. Josiah "Jed" Bartlet, a paragon of personal responsiblity from New Hampshire.

But listen:
As President, I will cancel NAFTA and the WTO, restore our manufacturing jobs, save our family farms, create full employment programs, create new jobs by rebuilding our cities and schools. As President, I will repeal the Patriot Act to regain for all Americans the sacred right of privacy in our homes, our libraries, our schools.--Dennis Kucinich

How could you not vote for that???
