When I began this blog in 2001, I was appalled by President Bush's headlong rush to an illegal war (we were not in fact under attack). As time wore on and Bush began his assault on the Constitution and any people bold enough to criticize, I believed that "the republic is endangered more by actions of our own government than by those of any terrorist." With the election of a high-minded, compassionate, intelligent man like Barack Obama, my fears have ceased.

Flash games have supplanted java games online, and now that I have a DSL line, I can actually enjoy them. So I did a search on "flash games" and came up with a page called the Flash arcade. There's some entertaining stuf there, but the one that grabbed my attention is the Florida Recount Game!. In addition to being entertaining, this game is educational, as it provides the names of all Florida counties and the vote totals in each in the last presidentialelection (according to whom, which count, I am not sure - but MAN was it close!)
