Bush family sleaze

Bush wasn't just an average S&L exec drawing a big salary and recklessly pushing a federally insured institution beyond its lending limits. As a director of a failing thrift in Denver, Bush voted to approve $100 million in what were ultimately bad loans to two of his business partners. And in voting for the loans, he failed to inform fellow board members at Silverado Savings & Loan that the loan applicants were his business partners . -- The Austin Chronicle, March 2001

This is about invisible brother Neil Bush who cost the taxpayers about $1.3 billion during his father's presidency.

More recently he dumped his wife, Sharon Bush, who gave up her teaching career and remained a loyal Republican stay-at-home spouse for 22 years (CBS news). You might imagine the Bush family would see to it that she got a big settlement and lifetime income, but not so. The family home is being sold to pay off her husband's debts and she gets about $30k a year for a few years until the kids reach 18 -- then it's hasta la vista, Sharon! (They love that phrase)
