First gay bishop

"I have learned over the years how to care for people for whom I am very problematic and frankly who are problematic for me, but my job is to serve them, and I take that very seriously." Bishop-elect Gene Robinson, quoted in the Anglican Voice

I have always been an admirer of the Episocpal Church, and as pleased to learn that the 107 member House of Bishops voted to confirm the appointment of Canon V. Gene Robinson who is frequently described as being openly gay. That phrase makes it sound as though he has sex in public, when in fact what it means is that he and his partner share living quarters and live normally instead of hiding a (shameful) secret. More power to them.
