Arnold's winBush will do what it takes to retain the White House in 2004, and taking the California governorship was a big piece of the WH strategy. Repuglicans do not, of course admit they plan shenannigans during the election, but do admit that Schwarzenegger's election will aid them 'organizationally.' Republicans have said for weeks that Mr. Schwarzenegger's victory would give Mr. Bush a strong organizational and fund-raising foundation in a traditionally Democratic state. -- NY Times 10-9-03 And of course, they pooh-poohed the serious negatives this candidate has. ... White House advisers pronounced themselves elated with the election's outcome, and insisted that the accusations that Mr. Schwarzenegger had groped women were politically motivated.-- NY Times 10-9-03 I would concede that bringing up these questions was motivated by political considerations. As a private citizen, he is doing realtively little harm. As governor, he could be a disaster to all who aren't part of the whiteboy club. So political motivation for raising the issues does NOT mean the accusers were incorrect. Palema
