It's another case of reality eerily echoing an episode of West Wing, the White House melodrama. In this week's episode, 'Constituency of One,' CJ and Leo butt heads on whether it's ok to omit critical references in an EPA report on coal-based energy.

The Real Life episode, trailing behind and taking few points for originality, has the administration masking passages of a Justice Department report that shows diversity is a problem not only in private business but also in government and even the DOJ itself. In the latter case, an expurgated documment was posted on the web and an 'information archeologist' in Tucson AZ resurrected the blacked out portions.
The unedited report, completed in June 2002 by the consulting firm KPMG, found that minority employees at the department, which is responsible for enforcing the country's civil rights laws, perceive their own workplace as biased and unfair. [read more]
