When I began this blog in 2001, I was appalled by President Bush's headlong rush to an illegal war (we were not in fact under attack). As time wore on and Bush began his assault on the Constitution and any people bold enough to criticize, I believed that "the republic is endangered more by actions of our own government than by those of any terrorist." With the election of a high-minded, compassionate, intelligent man like Barack Obama, my fears have ceased.

Richard Cheney, George W. Bush and his father, George H.W. Bush, are flying on Air Force One. Dick looks at Dubya, chuckles and says, You know, I could throw a $100.00 bill out the window right now and make someone very happy.
Dubya shrugs his shoulders and says, Well, I could throw ten $10.00 bills out the window and make 10 people happy.
George Bush Senior says, Of course then, I could throw one-hundred $1.00 bills out the window and make a hundred people very happy.
The pilot rolls her eyes, looks at them over her shoulder and says, I could throw all of you out the window and make the whole country ecstatic.
