The Bush wars and the economy

It happened once, it could happen again: President Bush sinks billions into war in the Middle East at the expense of the economy at home and wonders why the old Go-to-War ploy doesn't keep them in office.

The current Pres. Bush is pretending that the economy is in good shape, but of course it's not. I don't know what they're putting in his coffee to make him think things are all right. The Ny Times report on the Bush press conference says:
...he hailed American economic progress in recent months, reaffirmed his faith in keeping the dollar strong and dismissed concern over soaring deficits, insisting that he was "going to maintain spending discipline"...
. I must take issue with that word keeping. From where I sit, the dollar has been steadily eroding since Bush took office. I keep tabs on it via my monthly Canadian web hosting bill, which was $12.72 in April, 2002 and is now up to $15 a month. [Excellent folks at Baremetal.com]

Meanwhile increasing numbers of Americans are either unemployed or underemployed. The only ones doing really well are the Kellogg, Brown and Root boys.
