Tony Shalhoub, Actor/Producer

Go check out the Bush in 30 seconds ad contest sponsored by moveon.org.
For the last three years, President Bush's policies have ransacked the environment, put our national security at risk, damaged our economy, and redistributed wealth from the middle class to the very wealthiest Americans. Yet thanks to a complacent media, the President has managed to hide behind a carefully constructed "compassionate" image. As the 2004 election nears, it's crucial that voters understand what President Bush's policies really mean for our country. And to do that, we need creative new ads that clearly show what's at stake.

One of the judges of this contest is a favorite actor of mine, Tony Shalhoub, who ...

... is the star and producer of the Golden Globe and Emmy winning TV series, “Monk.” After earning his master's degree from the Yale Drama School and a luminous career on Broadway (including a Tony nomination for his role in “Conservations With My Father”), Tony went on to deliver memorable performances in films as diverse as “Spy Kids” to the critically acclaimed “Big Night”, Winning the Best Supporting Actor award from the National Society of Film Critics.

Shaloub is just one of the excellent judges for the Bush in 30 seconds ad contest sponsored by moveon.org. This contest -- for a short political ad that demonstrates what's wrong with Bush -- is another fantastic idea. The reason for it is the sameness of most political ads.
