New Awlins is a feeling not a place

A man in a creamsicle colored shirt and a soft felt hat of a sort men don;t wear any more --nothing but baseball caps, it seems-- but used all to wear (back in the 1930s and 1940s) is pictured in a New York Times article on repopulating New Orleans.

The man is Kermit Ruffins and he cana't wait to get back to Vaughn's and play his trumpet and cook red beans and rice for his band, the Barbecue Swingers.
